Artist of the Week’s Song of the Day – Wet Gold

the-octopus-projectIt’s Monday – yes, it’s back to work, but it also means that today’s Song of the Day comes from guitarleaves’ Artist of the Week – The Octopus Project. If you liked “Sharpteeth”, which we featured on Thursday, then I think you’ll like “Wet Gold”. A bizarre song (although the sanest out of the band’s collection) in its own right, it experiments with a unique set of harmonies and instruments, giving the band their wonderfully odd trademark flavour. Have a listen and let us know what you think.

Meet ‘The Octopus Project’ – a four-piece group making “psychedelic pop” from Texas. Active since 1999, The Octopus Project creates its unique sound by blending acoustic and electronic instruments, from theremins to guitars. Currently on a UK tour (details of which can be found here: http://www.songkick.com/artists/300530-octopus-project) Josh, Toto, Yvonne and Ryan are playing intimate venues before jetting back off to the US of A. Think Fleetwood Mac meets UFOs.

Check out our favourite single of theirs “Sharpteeth”.
